Weekly Note 02
Fulfilled
That's my word of the week.
I was going to use "feeling happy" but thought it's too general. Let's get a little fancier and use "fulfilled" instead.
And that's truly how I feel today. For the past week, I've been consolidating and actively organizing my digital life.
Activated and updated my Synology DS220J NAS, then moved my digital journal and notes into it. I also learn that I can rsync to and from it. Now I can type on my Raspideck with ease, because I have 2 copies.
Revived my old OpenMediaVault pc. Deleting movie backlogs that I never watch. I'm still using OMV ver 5.0. The current OMV version is 7.0. I think I'll use the same pc part but with less hard disk. I want to keep only the medias I really enjoyed.
Slowly consolidating my important photos, documents, and files into the NAS and to a single PC. I think I will stick with Debian for OS, I don't need to do anything flashy with it anyway. Still need to figure out a 3-2-1 backup system though.
I also need to tidy up the digital rack and cabling a little bit.
Other interesting things:
BAMBULAB PS2 3D PRINTER
I currently own Bambu A1 printer and had fun with it. The new PS2 is interesting, but I will wait at least until next year. Then I'll decide if I really need it or not.
ENTERTAINMENT
I built a SteamOS PC last week and using it to play Sleeping Dogs. Love the fact that the PC I built is overkill for the game, but that's why it's good.
I also played Undusted. It's a short but heartwarming game. Easy to platinum. You can finish it in a day. It's cozy and calming. 5/5 from me.
Finished watching Chihayafuru: Full Circle on Netflix. Then I realized this is actually a sequel to the Chihayafuru Trilogy. Planning to watch the trilogy soon. Few days ago we started to watch Romantics Anonymous. It's pretty good so far.
TECH
I built a distraction-free writer deck using an old RaspberryPi 3 model B. Attached to a 7" HDMI screen, and a wireless mechanical keyboard. I write journal and zettelkasten entries using nano editor and save as markdowns. When I'm done, I'll quickly sync to NAS using rsync. Yesterday, I learn to install and use tmux when I need side-by-side display. I use RaspbianOS Lite and use terminal exclusively. I love the simplicity of it. But this is another topic for another day.
I hope you have a great week, and until next weekend!
